A
touching yet inspiring photo of a premature baby flashing a big smile on her
face has gone viral after being posted and shared on Facebook by her mother.
The
infant girl named Freya appears to look happy in the photo weighing less than
four pounds and still covered in Neonatal Intensive care unit.
Lauren
Vinje posted the photo of her five (5) days old daughter, which was taken two
(2) years ago, on Facebook and was shared and posted on a Facebook group, Love
what matters.
In
her post, she wrote, "Our first daughter at five days old. 3 lbs. 14 oz.,
she was happy to be alive! This picture was one I looked at often to get me
through the ups and downs of our NICU days. Life is so precious."
Over
300,000 people recently liked the photo and it was shared over for 44,000
times. The viral photo also prompted some 9000 comments in the day after Vinje
uploaded the photo. The viral photo of baby Freya spread in the entire America
and was featured in ABC news.
Vinje
shared the story of her daughter through Birth without Fear, a page on Facebook.
She wrote that she began showing signs of preeclampsia around her 28th week of
pregnancy. Preeclampsia is a condition of a complication of pregnancy by a
blood pressure and a signs of damage to another organ system. And it can
potentially cause fatal complication for the mother and baby if left untreated.
“Honestly,
she is the best thing that has happened to us,” Lauren Vinje said.
Last
November 2016, Freya celebrated her second birthday.
There are really some
instances that are not expectable to come and destined to occur and it's a
miracle to give birth when complications and suffering hits.
